To Substance Abuse Block Grant Providers:
The Federal Substance Abuse Block Grant (SABG) requires that each state establish an Independent Peer Review process to assess the quality, appropriateness, and efficacy of programs that provide services funded by the grant.
This invitation is an important opportunity to contribute to improving behavioral health in the state of New Mexico as a member on our Independent Peer Review Committee (IPRC). Those that receive SABG funds through the Behavioral Health Services Division (BHSD) are strongly encouraged to have representatives apply.
The requirements include being a licensed behavioral health clinician or administrators with solid expertise in substance abuse treatment and service delivery. There will be reimbursement for time and travel to committed participants.
Core responsibilities include:
– A commitment for the duration of the term, July 2018 through June 2019.
– Attend an introductory orientation.
– Participate in designated site and/or case reviews.
– Contribute to the guidelines and work as outlined by the committee.
– Work collaboratively to develop a yearly report and summary of recommendations to the state.
All interested and qualified parties must submit an IPRC application and a current resume to the Block Grants Coordinator, Jacqueline Nielsen no later than Thursday May 16, 2018. Applicants that reside in both the southern and rural areas of the state as well as those that provide services to Native American populations are strongly encouraged to apply.
