Dr. Wayne Lindstrom named National Mental Health Leader

“Congratulations to Wayne for being elected as President of the Board of NASMHPD (National Association of State Mental Health Program Directors)!  Wayne’s work in New Mexico and nationally across all behavioral health public policy issues deserves this recognition and this is an honor that we can be proud of as New Mexicans. NASMHPD directors and commissioners from every state have honored not only Wayne by selecting him but also New Mexico by having chosen our behavioral health leader to serve in this voluntary role leading the Association and the 50 states, 4 territories and District of Columbia.

NASMHPD works with states as well as federal partners and others to promote wellness, recovery, and resiliency for individuals with mental health conditions or co-occurring mental health and substance related disorders across all ages and cultural groups.  It’s fundamental guiding values include:
