Thanks so much to all of you who attended our Grand Rounds presentation on Immigrants Fleeing Torture and Persecution.
Now is the time to act! Our Asylum Evaluation Training has been scheduled for June 9th. Details and the RSVP link are provided below. We desperately need every mental health provider we can get. Any independently licensed mental health provider can perform mental health evaluations for asylum seeking immigrants. Every day hundreds of immigrants who have been tortured and persecuted in their home countries are being detained in New Mexico, without any legal or mental health representation or support, and without having committed any crimes. We simply cannot meet the need that is out there if there are only a small handful of us doing these evaluations. Even if each of you did one evaluation a year, that would exponentially increase the number of individuals we are able to help.
Attendees can claim 5 hours of CME and CEU credits!!!
Please forward this link to any independently licensed mental health providers in your organizations, or others who you know!
Thanks so much again for your consideration, and please RSVP at the link below if you think you’ll be able to make it!
